[ Introduction: leader picks child to knock on bin, everyone calls 'come out Stinky!', Stinky comes out singing his intro tune ]
STINKY: [Comes out murmuring 'Please give me a bigger bin' in a chanty rhythmic way]
LEADER: Hi Stinky, how are you?
STINKY: [In the midst of praying repeatedly the same chanty prayer] Can't talk... 'Please give me a bigger bin'... I'm praying... 'Please give me a bigger bin'.
LEADER: [Look confused at audience] What kind of praying is that? Hey Stinky, why are you praying like that?
STINKY: 'Please bin me a bigger give' -- I mean 'Bin me big please' -- I mean 'Big please is the bin that I give' -- I mean... Oh! I lost my rhythm now!
LEADER: Stinky, why are you praying like that?
STINKY: Oh I read it in the Bible! 1 Thessalonians 5:17. It says 'Never stop praying'.
LEADER: Oh, Stinky! I think you might be a bit confused. Let's have a look at what the Bible says. [Read passage in context]
STINKY: See! That's it, it says 'Never stop praying'.
LEADER: Well, Stinky, you need to read the bits around it to know what it means. See, this is not saying that we should talk like a parrot saying the same thing over and over again.
STINKY: No?! Oh, yeah, I hate it when people say the same thing over and over again, and over and over again, and over and over again... [etc]
LEADER: No, Stinky! [hand over S's mouth] No. It means we should take time to remember all the good things God has done for us. We should say thank you to God. Always. No matter what happens. And we can start with the best thing God has given us: Jesus!
STINKY: Oh... How do you do that?
LEADER: Well, today, we as a church are going to remember what God has done, and say thank you to Him.
STINKY: But I'm not sure what I can say thank you for!
LEADER: Well, why don't you go and think about it a bit. We'll think about it too, and then we can tell each other. OK?
STINKY: That sounds good! OK!
[ Off stage ]
STINKY: Hello again!
LEADER: Hi. What did you think of Stinky?
STINKY: Well, I can say thank you for my friends!
LEADER: Good one!
STINKY: What did you think about to say thank you for?
LEADER: Well, lots of things Stinky! Here are some... [read out]
[ Off stage, can do the same again if required ]
STINKY: You know, I'm really thankful for my bin, actually! It's a great bin! It contrasts well with my complexion, too!
LEADER: That's great Stinky!
STINKY: I'm also thankful for what I learnt today: we should be thankful always! Thank you Mr Dave! I better go now. Bye little monkeys!
