[ Introduction: leader picks child to knock on bin, everyone calls 'come out Stinky!', Stinky comes out singing his intro tune ]
STINKY: Hello little monkeys!
LEADER: Hello Stinky!
STINKY: Hello Mr Nathan, I have a question for you!
LEADER: OK
STINKY: I want to know: How big is the love of Jesus?
LEADER: How big is the love of Jesus? Oh, that's a good one. Well...
STINKY: [Interrupts, hands over small ruler] Here you go.
LEADER: What's this?
STINKY: A ruler! It helps you see how big things are. So you can show me how big the love of Jesus is.
LEADER: Stinky! This is tiny! It's nowhere near big enough...
STINKY: Oh. OK, I'll be back...
[ Goes down ]
STINKY: How about...
[ Comes out with larger ruler ]
STINKY: ... this one! Aha!
LEADER: Nope, not big enough.
[ Repeat with few rulers, getting bigger and bigger. Keep repeating same lines, and keep flowing quickly. The visual joke will be seeing all this rulers coming out of bin. Helpful if leader puts rulers aside. ]
STINKY: Oh. OK, how about... [goes down, back with bigger ruler] ... this one! Aha!
LEADER: Nope, not big enough.
STINKY: Oh. OK, how about... [brings out big tradie's measuring tape] this one! Aha!
LEADER: Wow, we might need some help with this one. Dave, can you hold this end and walk back? Let's see...
STINKY: Ok, keep going, keep going -- all the way to the end of the hall!\ [To kids] Ha, I'm going to get him now little monkeys...\ Aha! How about now?
LEADER: Nope, not big enough.
STINKY: What?! That's amazing!
LEADER: Stinky, I have good news! The love of Jesus is so big... that we can't measure it!
STINKY: Oh. But how can we know how big it is then?
LEADER: Ah! You know, the apostle Paul wanted his friends to know how big the love of Jesus is. Let's see what he did in the Bible:
[ Slide (verse): May you have power with all God's people to understand Christ's love. May you know how wide and long and high and deep it is. And may you know his love, even though it can't be known completely. Ephesians 3:18-19 ]
LEADER: See? The love of Jesus is so big and amazing, we can't fully understand it.
STINKY: But he prays that we do understand how big it is -- how can we know Jesus' love?
LEADER: Yes. He asks God to give us the super power to know it. We need God's help.
STINKY: Super power from God! That's how we know...
LEADER: Yes! Let's see our Bible Bite:

LEADER: Do you think you can say it Stinky?
STINKY: Hmm... Ruler... power... Oh! A rower has the power to be a puller with a ruler?
LEADER: Oh, Stinky! Let's say it again kids -- all together.
STINKY: Hey Mr Nathan, maybe we could pray now that God gives the little monkeys this super power!
LEADER: Good idea! Let's all pray...\ Dear God, thank you for Jesus and his love. It's so big we can't understand it. Please give us the power to understand it. In Jesus name, Amen.
STINKY: Thank you Mr Nathan. Oh, I better go now. Bye bye little monkeys!
LEADER: Bye Stinky!
[ Leader takes rulers away. ]
