[ Introduction: leader picks child to knock on bin, everyone calls 'come out Stinky!', Stinky comes out singing his intro tune ]
STINKY: Hello Miss Pat! I'm very excited today. I'm trying to solve a mystery, and I'd like help from you and the little monkeys. Can you please help me?
[ Kids respond 'yes'! ]
STINKY: Well, someone sent me a gift - some lollies! But they didn't say who it was. Instead, they have been sending me some notes with clues about themselves. I'm trying to work out who it is, and I'd like to know more about him or her. Can I please give you the clues, and the little monkeys can read them out and we can try and guess who sent them to me?
[Leader Go through clues:\ - I will be at Sunday school.\ - I am a boy, not a girl.\ - My middle name is [?]\ - What do you like eating?\ What kind of car do you have?\ What colour are your eyes?\ What colour is your hair?\ Do you have curls?\ What is your middle name?]
STINKY: Wow, this is hard! OK, I've got one last clue! Here it is:
[ This is a special clue - it is the last clue, and it will tell you the most about me. Find Nicholas Austin, and you'll get to know me! He looks like me, and he knows me better than anyone else in this room. He can tell you lots of things about me. ]
STINKY: Wow, you better come out to the front to help us Nicholas!
[ Nicholas comes ]
STINKY: What do you think kids, who might be the mystery person? He looks like Nicholas!
[ Kids guess, then can Peter can say "Yep, it was me Stinky, I wanted to send you some lollies so we could share them today. ]
STINKY: Oh Miss Pat! Nicholas was the best clue ever! When he came, we could know the mystery man! I'd like to ask Nicholas some questions about Mr Peter. Hey Nicholas,
STINKY: - How many legs do you have? ... (That's amazing! Just like your dad!)
STINKY: - How many toes do you have? ... (That's amazing!)
STINKY: That was great - thanks Nicholas!
STINKY: Hey Miss Pat, I have a question... I know that Jesus is God's son. Can we know God by knowing Jesus?
LEADER: What a good question! What do you think kids? [kids answer]
LEADER: Well, let's find out what the Bible says. Let's get Robbie the Robot to search the Bible and see what he finds as the answer.
[ View Bible verse, get a child to read it. ]
LEADER: Wow! This bit of the Bible says that Jesus is "the exact likeness of God\'s being". That means that knowing Jesus is the best way to know God. We can know God by knowing Jesus, because Jesus is His son, and the perfect, full revelation of God.
LEADER: Let's think of some ways in which Jesus shows us what God is like.
LEADER: > Jesus had power over nature - [Stinky: and so does God!]\ > Jesus is perfect, he never sinned - just like God\ > Jesus loves people - just like God\ > Jesus hates sin - just like God!\ > Jesus was really kind to people - just like God!\ > Jesus provided food and drink to people - just like God!\ > Jesus' words were powerful (he calmed a storm and healed people just by speaking) - God created the world by His word.
STINKY: That's amazing! So what's the Bible Bite for today Miss Pat?
[ Bible Bite - a child reads, then S gets wrong ("Knowing Jesus is the best way to know Peter Austin"), then all together. ]
