| Passage Text | You are God\'s chosen people. You are holy and dearly loved. So put on tender mercy and kindness as if they were your clothes. Don\'t be proud. Be gentle and patient. 13 Put up with each other. Forgive the things you are holding against one another. Forgive, just as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all of those good things put on love. Love holds them all together perfectly as if they were one. 15 Let the peace that Christ gives rule in your hearts. As parts of one body, you were appointed to live in peace. And be thankful. 16 Let Christ\'s word live in you like a rich treasure. Teach and correct each other wisely. Sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing with thanks in your hearts to God. 17 Do everything you say or do in the name of the Lord Jesus. Always give thanks to God the Father through Christ. |

[ Introduction: leader picks child to knock on bin, everyone calls 'come out Stinky!', Stinky comes out singing his intro tune ]
LEADER: How are you Stinky?
STINKY: Grrr! I'm angry! I'm CRANKY! Grrrrrr! I'm very cranky! I'm very very cranky! I'm very very very cranky! I'm...
LEADER: OK, OK Stinky, we get the idea. Why are you so cranky?
STINKY: Because! My brother Smelly snatched my favourite toy from me!
LEADER: Oh no!
STINKY: Oh yes! And then, my mum and dad told me to share my toy with my brother -- and I don't want to!
LEADER: Oh no!
STINKY: Oh yes! And now I'm so angry, I'm going to put on this sign in my bin, to show everyone how I feel inside.
[ Gets out coathanger with "Angry, My Way" puts it on bin. ]
STINKY: I'm angry, and I'll do things MY WAY -- the Stinky way! I'm not going to obey my mum and dad! Nuh!
LEADER: Hmmm. You know Stinky, God likes it when we obey our parents.
STINKY: Yes?
LEADER: Yes. We are God's people, and he loves us dearly. Jesus has brought us together into ONE family -- HIS family!
STINKY: Really?!
LEADER: Yes! So God wants us to put off the old way of living.
STINKY: He wants us to put off the old way of living? [Looks at sign] Erh, you mean, like being angry, and disobeying your parents?
[ S takes out sign words, drops it to floor ]
LEADER: Oh yes. And He wants us to put on Jesus' way of living.
STINKY: He wants us to put on Jesus' way of living? Oh... What's Jesus' way of living?
LEADER: That's a good question Stinky! Let's find out from the Bible...

STINKY: Wow, that sounds really hard!
LEADER: Yes, but God is good and He doesn't leave it to us -- He helps us and changes us.
LEADER: Miss Pat! Can you please help me put on words that shows Jesus' way of living?
LEADER: Of course Stinky! Let's see... Who can tell me what words from the passage we should put on Stinky's bin?
[ Put on: kind, gentle, patient, humble, forgive, thankful, obedient (leave space at top for 'Love'). Get children to help, from text. Then gives sign to Stinky, who puts it on. ]
STINKY: Oh, Thank you Miss Pat. Now I think I'll go and forgive my brother, and obey my mum and dad.
LEADER: Good on you Stinky!
STINKY: I better go now -- See you later little monkeys!
