[ Introduction: leader picks child to knock on bin, everyone calls 'come out Stinky!', Stinky comes out singing his intro tune ]

STINKY: Hello little monkeys!

LEADER: Hello Stinky! How are things?

STINKY: [melodramatic, whingey] No good. Everything's bad. I'm grumpy. And... and I'm sad! I'm missing out, and nobody cares.

LEADER: Wow, Stinky -- what's happened?

STINKY: Well, I got invited to a dress up party and I have to go dressed up as a gorilla, but I don't have a gorilla suit! I'm going to miss out!!

LEADER: Oh. But I've got one. You can have it. [matter of fact]

STINKY: Really?

LEADER: Of course -- you're my friend! Just ask.

STINKY: Thank you! I'm going to tell everyone what a good friend you are!

LEADER: No worries Stinky. You got all worried and sad, thinking you were going to miss out. But you forgot that you're my friend! You can borrow all my things, because you're my friend.

STINKY: Yeah! Hey, that reminds me of something! I have a question.

LEADER: OK.

STINKY: It's about the apostle Paul. He got treated really badly because he followed Jesus. But he didn't get all grumpy and hopeless like me. Why is that?

LEADER: Ah. Let me show you a verse from the Bible:

[ Slide (verse): Give praise to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. He has blessed us with every spiritual blessing. Those blessings come from the heavenly world. They belong to us because we belong to Christ. ]

LEADER: You know, Paul was in prison when he wrote this!

STINKY: But he's not complaining!

LEADER: No - he didn't feel like he was missing out on anything, because he had Jesus. He had every spiritual blessing in Jesus.

STINKY: That sounds amazing!

LEADER: And here's the great news. He says that when we have Jesus as our boss, we also have every spiritual gift!

STINKY: What are these spiritual gifts?

LEADER: Oh, there are so many! I wish we had time to talk about each of these, but I'm going to list some of the ones the apostle Paul mentions. Ready?

STINKY: Ready.

[ Lists them off, with Stinky echoing each quickly ]

LEADER: We are in his family\ We will be made clean and as white as snow\ We have been saved, because Jesus died the death that we deserve\ We have forgiveness of sins because of Jesus\ We have been told God's big plan of salvation -- We know what God has done for us\ We are rich, because Jesus shares with us all he has\ And We have been sealed with the Holy Spirit, so we know it's true.

STINKY: Wow, so much blessing! Why did God do all this?

LEADER: He wants us to see how kind He is.

STINKY: He's very kind.

LEADER: Yes! Let's see our Bible Bite:

[ Slide: Bible Bite: We have every spiritual blessing in Jesus. ]

LEADER: Can you say that Stinky?

STINKY: Eh... We can go to every party in a gorilla suit?

LEADER: Stinky! Let's do it together kids one more time.

STINKY: I'm glad I'm your friend. I have so many good things because of that! I shouldn't have got all sad and grumpy.

LEADER: That's right!

STINKY: Oh, I better go now. Bye bye little monkeys!
