[ Introduction: leader picks child to knock on bin, everyone calls 'come out Stinky!', Stinky comes out singing his intro tune ]
STINKY: Hello Mr Andrew!
LEADER: Hi Stinky! Hey, I've got something special to tell you.
STINKY: Oooh, what is it?
LEADER: Well, your birthday is coming up, isn't it?
STINKY: Yes!
LEADER: Well, I wanted to give you a special gift...
STINKY: What is it?
LEADER: It's a driving holiday with me, in my fancy new car!
STINKY: Wow!
LEADER: Yeah, we could go on a big adventure together, and drive around Australia in my new fancy car. We could see the scenery, have lots of good talks, it'll be fun!
STINKY: WOW! That sounds great!
LEADER: I thought you'd like it! And so you know what my new car is like, I brought this little toy car, which looks a bit like it. [ Hands over to S }
STINKY: Wow, thank you Mr Andrew! This is the best gift ever! [ Stares at car, obsessively }
LEADER: Well, Stinky... that's just a little toy car, it's not the real gift. It's a fake!
STINKY: Oh, no! This is the gift I want... it's so wonderful...
LEADER: But Stinky, don't you want to spend time with me? Go around Australia? In a real car?
STINKY: Ehhh... No! I want this!
LEADER: So you want to swap a holiday with me, in a real car, for a little fake car like that?!
STINKY: Yes! I'm very smart, and I think that's a smart swap...
LEADER: Kids, what do you think -- is that a smart swap, or a silly swap? [ Gather answers }
STINKY: No, I'm sticking with my swap!
LEADER: Hmm... You know Stinky, the Bible talks about a silly swap that people do. A very silly swap.
STINKY: What is it?
LEADER: Let me show you...
[Slide: Bible verse\ [ People] claim to be wise, but they are fools. They don\'t worship the glorious and eternal God. Instead, they worship idols that are made to look like humans who cannot live forever, and like birds, animals, and reptiles. Romans 1:22-23 ]
LEADER: This explains how people reject God. They swap Him, for things that He's made. And people think that's really smart, but it's silly. When we love toys, clothes, or money, or anything else more than God, it's like making this swap.
STINKY: That sounds like a silly swap!
LEADER: Yes! God is a lot better than anything else. God is happy to give us these things, but He doesn't want us to treat them like fake gods.
STINKY: No! So what's the Bible Bite for today?
LEADER: Let's have a look...
[Slide: Bible bite\ Don't swap God for a fake -- that's silly!\ Read out, then read out together with kids.]
LEADER: Stinky, it's your turn -- can you say the Bible Bite?
STINKY: Oh, let me see... Don't swap the tyres of a toy car, they're fake!
LEADER: Oh, Stinky! Let's all try again together... [ Repeat together, with Stinky }
STINKY: Mr Andrew, I think I've changed my mind. It's silly to swap a real holiday with you for a little fake car. And it was rude to you - please forgive me.
LEADER: Of course Stinky!
STINKY: Well, I better go and pack my things for the holiday! I can't wait! [ Starts to go down, then returns, holds out car } Oh.. Mr Andrew, you can have this toy car back. It's nice, but I don't need it anymore!
LEADER: Thanks Stinky!
STINKY: Thank you for teaching me about silly swaps. I better go now, bye little monkeys!
